Jeremy Moody is a college instructor and Religious Studies scholar from Richmond, Virginia. He has taught courses such as World Religions, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Life, Death and Meaning. His primary curse and area of research is Cults and Conspiracy Theories and how social media algorithms are designed to create cult like movements. He has conducted research for the Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia and has spoken lectured at a variety of universities.
His expertise, experience in assisting families who are dealing with losing loved ones to cult like groups, and unique presentation style earned him a co-hosting spot on the GRIFTY podcast for season three.
In 2017, Jeremy was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease, a life changing diagnosis which he writes and speaks about.
Relocating to Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy is researching New Religious and Wellness movements for future projects and has completed a Pilot Script based inspired by his life with Parkinson’s Disease, and a feature film script about a cult leader and right wing extremism.
He is available for speaking engagements and media appearances.
